Easily Madonna's Saddest Performance! And Inside, Madonna's All Still Wet!

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

It's gonna be a long uphill climb for the Wizards this season!

Madonna Song of the Day-Till Death Do Us Part from Like a Prayer-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"She's had enough/She says the end/But she'll come back/She knows it then/A chance to start it all again/Till Death Do Us Part!"-Ending with raging guitar, a broken vase and shattered dreams Part 1, Madonna says goodbye to Sean and figures out her life leading up to the Sex book...A woman in pain and tears. Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via initial Reinventor Reggie Lucas-"It's a physical, a physical attraction/A chemical, a chemical reaction!"-Madonna's voice, still raw and thin at this point certainly does subscribe to the Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll" archetype.  No, Madonna will never be the Just Say No type! Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

Continuing the sadness, Madonna's searched for love is thwarted.  Her dreams are dashed by crushing reality.

Madonna Song of the Day-Love Don't Live Here Anymore-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Miles Gregory-"You abandoned me!/Love Don't Live Here Anymore!"-Madonna's First Sad Song.  She Cries on this one.  Madonna Loves and Misses Her Mother.  (Cry!) (Sob!)

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

Madonna A brilliant woman.  Lonely and alone on top.

Madonna Song of the Day-Think of Me from The First Album-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"It won't be long and I'll Be Gone and then You'll Think of Me!"-A major theme in Madonna's music is unrequired and unrequited love that never gets there if ever at all.  With Madonna, sadness is never far away.  Watch out, Madonna will get you! Do not fool around with her!

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Rocky Mountain Trouble-Trouble in Denver.  In this "family values" ultra-conservative Christian city out west, Madonna is unwelcome.  It's as simple as that.  The next song should give you a clue...

Madonna Song of the Day-Gang Bang from MDNA-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Bang bang!/I'm going straight to hell!/I'm scared, can't you tell?/Bang bang/Bang bang, shot you dead!/I wanted and loved you most/But I was just keeping my enemies close/I am driving your hearse/Bang bang, shot you dead in the head!/Now my lover is dead!/I'm going straight to hell and I've got a lot of friends there!/Drive Bitch!...Now Die Bitch!"-Clearly the first of the record's songs directed at Guy Ritchie.  Clearly the fire and passion had gone out and Madonna was once again running scared.  Destined to be Alone.

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

The Tour preceding MDNA-Sticky and Sweet-was a beautiful Madonna memory.  Here's one of them...

Madonna Song of the Day-Like a Prayer from Sticky and Sweet Tour-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Just Like a Prayer!/I'll Take You There!/It's like a dream to me!-Possibly Madonna's most X-Static and best song ever.  And it is.  Like a Prayer-Transcendence through immanence!-Yes, Madge!

Madonna Monday-Rabbit Leopold

In America-Madonna is the Heartland Heroine, having a voice for those who'll never have one.  Brava, Lady
Ciccone!

Madonna Song of the Day-Who's That Girl?-from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"She's smiling/An invitation to the dance!/Who's That Girl?"-Yet Lady Madonna is also crying beautiful and sobbing Tears That Are All Still Sad-and Wet! Her mother is nowhere to be found.

Madonna Song of the Day-Everybody from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Everybody!/Come On/Dance and Sing!/Everybody!/Get up and do your thing!"-With that simple clarion call, the Madonna Age in rock & roll.  After Everybody and Madonna, I was never again the same.  Thank You Lady Ciccone! Madonna=Brilliance!

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

"I have the best job in the world!"-Madonna

Madonna Song of the Day-Four Minutes (Remixed version)-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Are you ready to go?/There's enough room for both/We've only got Four Minutes to save
the world/Tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock..."-4 Minutes=30 Years.  Madonna is someone who needs no introduction.  Madonna Forever!

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Across the desert from California to Nevada, Madonna went to Vegas and wowed 'em!

Madonna Song of the Day-Voices from Hard Candy-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Voices start to ring in your head/Tell me what do they say?/Distant Echoes from Another Time...Baby show me your hand/Who is the master and who is the slave?"-As church bells toll and ring out-for Madonna, it was the end of the Bunny Rabbit Looney Tune Warner era.  Voices-the last and best song from the Warner years! Madonna Forever!

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

On to L.A., Madonna suddenly starts crying for a 14-year old girl who was shot by the Taliban in Pakistan as she tried to get on a bus.  With that, tears fall as Human Nature begins.  The show is dedicated with love to Malala.

Madonna Song of the Day-Devil Wouldn't Recognize You from Hard Candy-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via her Good Brother Joe Henry-"As quiet as it is tonight/You almost think you were safe/Your eyes are full of surprises/They cannot predict my fate!/Waiting underneath the stars/There's something you should know/The angels they surround my heart/Telling me to let you go!...It's like Over and Over/You're pushing me right down to the floor!/Over and Over/I keep on coming back for More/I play into your fantasy/Now that it's over/You can lie to me right through your smile/I see behind your eyes/Now that I'm sober/No more intoxicating my mind/Even the devil wouldn't recognize you!...You almost fooled yourself this time/Let all saints be praised!/You hide your sadness behind your smile/And you keep your lost heart braced/The steps that edge along the ledge is much higher than it seems/But I've been on that ledge before/You can't hide yourself from me!/Even the devil wouldn't recognize you!"-Combining the outright rage of Borderline with the sadness of Take a Bow, Madonna made and recorded Hard Candy in the death throes of her second marriage to Guy Ritchie.  Clearly it was not working for Madonna and Guy anymore.  Call Devil Wouldn't Recognize You The War of the Ritchies and you're not that far off.  When asked by friend/Talk show host David Letterman on the chances of marriage again, Our Lady angrily replied
-"I'd rather get run over and hit by a train!" For Madonna, it was sadly real and final.  In Miss Ciccone's eyes, it was real this time-The years of British Exile were over.  Once again it was Madonna who Lived to Tell-Madonna came back home to America to Stay-there was no looking back!

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopld

Next up it was on to San Jose-home of the Sharks!-it was here she celebrated the 30th anniversary of first hit "Everybody."  30 years later, for Madonna, dreams still come true for her.

Madonna Song of the Day-Spanish Lesson from Hard Candy
-Lyric quote from Lady/Dona Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Yo te quiero means I love you!...Baby I'm on to your game!"-One of Madonna's quirkier pieces, Spanish Lesson is a good La Isla Bonita update or Evita Prelude #6-and I take it as a compliment, Dona Ciccone!

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

Back home, Madonna played a thrilling night MDNA-style at Seattle's Key Arena.  She rocked the Key crowd so much that even Hendrix looked down and smiled on her.

Madonna Song of the Day-Dance Tonight from Hard Candy
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"You don't have to be beautiful to be understood/You don't have to be rich or famous to be good/You just gotta get more than you ever have before/And you gotta move fast/If you want a good thing to last!/Let's dance tonight!/And prove ourselves to the world/And we'll hold hands tonight/I'm just a boy and you're just a girl/I want to dance tonight!/Don't need no diamonds and pearls/So take a chance tonight/And prove ourselves to the world!"-This song could be Madonna's motto.  For 30 years, Madonna has sang, danced and made people happy! She's not about to stop or relinquish her crown.  She's our real-life Dancing Queen! The truth does not lie!

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

30 years ago today, on October 6th 1982-Rock & Roll began a new chapter-the Madonna Age when the dance anthem "Everybody" was unleashed around the world.  From the onset, Rock Critics embraced Madonna and with the song's clarion call and hopeful message "Everybody!/Dance and Sing!/Get up and do your thing!"-it was a song we all needed and wanted to hear.  Back in 1982, Both America and Britain were caught in the reign of terror that were Ronald Reagan and Maggie Thatcher.  For us, the youth had spoken.   Loudly.  Here was a singer who wasn't afraid to express herself through song and dance.  Madonna was her name and happily, the world changed because of her.  Congrats, Madge!

Madonna Song of the Day-Beat Goes On from Hard Candy
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Kanye West-"It's time for you to celebrate!/Get up, Little Girl (Lola)/It's time, your world!/Your life, your choice!/It's time, live it up!/On and on/On the beat goes/On and on!/You don't have the luxury of time/You have got to say what's on your mind/Here comes my hand/Take it you can/The time is now/I'll show you how!/Say what you like/Do what you feel/You know exactly who you are/The time is right now/You've got to decide/There ain't no time to lose!/Be the star!"
-Like Angel, Secret, You Must Love Me, Nothing Really Matters, Little Star and What It Feels Like for a Girl before it and Superstar after it, Beat Goes On is clearly a song to Lola and it is clear that mother Madonna loves her brilliant teenager.  One of the best songs about mother/daughter friendship.  Madonna and Lola, I salute you both!

Madonna Song of the Day-Give It to Me from Hard Candy-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Give It to Me, yeah!/No one's gonna show me how/Give It to Me, yeah!/No one's gonna stop me now!...When lights go down and there's no one left, I can go on and on and on!"-That she will.  Madonna is like the Energizer Bunny Rabbit of rock & roll! Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Four Nights at Yankee Stadium-Madonna: First female rocker to do that!

Madonna Song of the Day-American Life from record of same name
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Do you think I'm satisfied?!"
-No, of course not! Madonna has made her mistakes but they've made her a lot more human.  And what is so wrong about that?

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

From Banknorth Garden in Boston to Yankee Stadium in New York, the MDNA Tour keeps winning raves for Madonna.  The show "is the soul of a journey from darkness to light"-and we somehow believe her! On with the show, Maddy!

Madonna Song of the Day-Take a Bow from Greatest Hits Volume 2
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"I've always been in love with you/I guess you've always known it's true/You took my love for granted/Why, oh why?/This show is over say goodbye!"-No truer lyrics in a Madonna tune have ever been sung.  Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie never Lived to Tell-they never learned their lessons well because Madonna is no stranger to heartbreak.  Call this Michigan divorcee the Unlucky Star when it comes to love!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

On the Road to Boston, Madonna gives a high-energy performance.  She gives an impassioned speech about why she loves America.  A beautiful homecoming.  The hardest working and rocking live performer in showbiz! The Lady Rocks!

Madonna Song of the Day-Paradise from Music-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Into your eyes/My face remains!-Another stunner and shocker from The Lady of Them All!-Madonna-Her mother's memory is in her heart.  Beautiful ballad.

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

After two nights in the Canadian Province of French Quebec-Montreal and Quebec City, Madonna said to the audiences at Bell Centre and Plains of Abraham, "I am Proud of my French-Canadian Heritage!" Les Quebecois cheered Madonna.  Unfortunately, just days after the Montreal and Quebec City MDNA performances, riots broke out in Quebec Province because of the so-called separatist movement.  This kind of nationalism must stop if our Neighbor up North-Canada-is to remain one country.  Pray that this kind of political and ideal farrago does not happen in the good old US of A!

Madonna Song of the Day-Mer Girl from Ray of Light-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"I ran and I ran/I'm still running away!"
No, Madonna will never get over the shock and horror of her mother's death.  Madonna is crying.  The impact of Mer Girl hits-and then it shudders.

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

From Philadelphia to Montreal and Quebec City, Madonna Keeps Wowing Audiences with the MDNA Tour.  She has the best job in the world.  A True Blue Fighting Spirit-MADONNA!

Madonna Song of the Day-The Waltz from Evita-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and Antonio Banderas-"Tell me before you get on to your bus/Before joining the Forgotten Brigade!/How can one person like me say/Alter the time-honored way the game is played?/Tell me before you get on to your high horse/Just what you expect me to do?/I don't care what the bourgeoisie say/I'm not in business for them but to give all my descamisados/A magical moment or two!/There is evil!/Ever around/Fundamental system of government quite incidental!/So what are my chances
of honest advances?/I'd say low/Better to win by admitting my sin/Than to lose with a halo/Allow me to help you to slink off to the sidelines/And mark your adieu with three cheers!/But first tell me who'd be delighted?/If I said I would take on the world's greatest problems/From war to pollution/No hope of solution!/Even if I lived for 100 years!...So go if you're able/To somewhere unstable!/And stay there!/Whip up your hate in some tottering state!/But not here dear!/Is that clear dear?/What if I'd give for a hundred years?/But the physical interferes/Every day More/Oh my Creator?/What is the good of the strongest heart?/In a body that's falling apart!/A serious flaw/I hope you know that!"-Clearly in the last years of Evita's life, the years weren't kind to her.  As for Madonna herself, Evita will always be her best performance on the silver screen-she delivers one of the saddest and dare I say it best singing of her Ciccone life and existence.  Madonna's music will live forever, no questions asked!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

On to the Americas.  MDNA-Europe was eventful for Madonna.  Here, she stepped up her role as activist. It's likely that the North American leg of MDNA will be no different! I can't wait for September 24th at Wizard Verizon Center in D.C.  Madonna Forever!

Madonna Song of the Day-On This Night of a Thousand Stars/Beware of the City-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice-"On this night of a thousand stars/Let me take you to heaven's door/Where the Music of Love's guitars plays Forevermore!...My family were kept out of sight...Screw the middle classes/I will never accept them!"-With typical Madonna defiance, Lady Ciccone grabs her guitar and makes her case for rock & roll.  Today Michigan, tomorrow the rest of America-and the world.  Madonna Louise Ciccone does not look back.  She is a brilliant Lady Evita, that Madge!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

This blog today is dedicated to the women who rock!-To Bessie, Patsy, Janis, Melissa, the Wilson sisters
-Ann and Nancy-of Heart, the Heartbreak Twins from Sweden-Frida and Agneatha-of Abba, Alison, Bettye and Madonna-Brilliant Ladies All! In the writing of a Madonna tune-What It Feels Like for a Girl.

Madonna Song of the Day-Live to Tell from Something to Remember
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"A man can tell a thousand lies/I've learned my lesson well!/Hope I Live to Tell/The secret I have learned/Till then, it will burn inside of me!...If I ran away/I'd never have the strength to go very far/And how would they hear/The beating of my heart?/Will it grow cold?/The secret that I hide!/Will I grow old?/How would they hear?/When will they learn?/And how will (would) they know?...The truth is never far behind/You kept it hidden well!/If I Live to Tell/The secret I knew then/Will I ever have the chance again?"-Well, to answer Madonna's sad yet hopeful question, in Live to Tell, she definitely and defiantly will have another chance to tell her Ciccone story because Madonna is a survivor and a rebel.  Her higher calling and religion is love-Madonna loves her life.  Despite her sadness in Live to Tell, there is hope for Madonna in her life.  Live to Tell is my favorite Madonna tune-her best song ever! Happy birthday Lady Madge!

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

I know it's a bit later than expected but to my finest inspiration-Happy birthday Madonna! You are a happy girl in your happy world because you rock hard with will and determination-and grace too! You are a friend of mine because you're a Ray of Light and Masterpiece who Lives to Tell and Takes a Bow in Love and Life.  Thank You for your Brilliant Music!-Rabbitbunny Leopold.

Madonna Song of the Day-Survival from Bedtime Stories-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I'll Never Be an Angel/I'll Never Be a Saint, it's True/I'm Too Busy Surviving/Whether it's heaven or hell/I'm gonna be Living to Tell/So Here's My Story/No Risk No Glory/A little up and down and all around/It's all about Survival!"-Perhaps the lady's truest and most autobiographical manifesto, Madonna will always survive long after her contemporaries fade or burn out.  Even in the afterglow of stardom, Madonna will always burn and shine brightly among rockers.  That's a given.  Or to quote Paul Westerberg of seminal Eighties band the Replacements, Madonna Louise Ciccone will always be Left of the Dial-she's the mainstream rocker with an indie-DIY heart.

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

Thank You Bunny Rosie for your help and friendship-I Love You a Whole Bunch!-The Four
Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Gimme Back My Bullets by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Madonna Song of the Day-Sooner or Later-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
via Stephen Sondheim-"Sooner or later...I always get my man!"-Further proof that Our Lady had come a long way from early Ciccone hits Material Girl and Into the Groove.  However, here
-Madonna does something quite different-She imbues the Sondheim melody with a marked sadness and makes it her own-as if Maddy might and will never get her man in the end after all this time searching for love-just ask Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie-and finding absolutely nothing to soothe or comfort her.  Madge is Crying, no question about it!

"A Victim of a Kind of Rage!"-The Ciccone ballad Oh Father burns with anger and Madonna is screaming, raging and crying in catharsis and rage and at authority
and the powers that be.

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Don't Do Me Like That
by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers-1979, New Year's Day by U2-1983,
Lyin' Eyes by the Eagles-1975 and The Other Side by Aerosmith-1989.  For Madonna, she's a lifer.  Rock On Madge!

Madonna Song of the Day-Where's the Party?-from You Can Dance-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Where's the Party?/I Want to Free My Soul!"-Madonna is likely asking that question as many fans booed her last night in Paris.  Cheer up, Madge-To paraphrase a song of yours named Fighting Spirit
-Keep the Fighting Spirit and you'll begin again! Keep the fighting Spirit of love! Your move, Maddy!

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Locomotive Breath
by Jethro Tull-1971, Feelin' Satisfied by Boston and Wheel in the Sky by Journey
-1978 and Dirty Laundry by Don Henley-1982.  This blog today is dedicated to the eternal memory of a brilliant Pre-Madonna, Evita Peron who went to the great gig in the Argentine skies-July 26, 1952-60 years on.  Flash forward 60 years later, Madonna plays the MDNA Performance at the Olympia in Paris under French skies overlooking the Eiffel Tower! Lady Madonna, c'est magnifique!

Madonna Song of the Day-Who's That Girl?-from record/movie of the same name
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Get closer to the Fire!...An invitation to the Dance!...Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?...What Can Help Me Now?/No One Can Help Me Now!/Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?"-In this sad Ciccone ballad-Evita Prelude #2 it's also named, I can hear the sadness in Madonna's beautiful voice.  Madonna Cries Alone in Tears.

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

Thank you Calvin and Allie for being there! This blog goes out to my dear Rabbit mother Andrea! You Rock Maman Lapine!-Je t'aime! The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Dancing Days by Led Zeppelin
and Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles-1973, Come Together by Aerosmith-1978 and Hurts So Good by John Mellencamp-1982.

Madonna Song of the Day-Papa Don't Preach from True Blue-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"What I Need Right Now Is Some Good Advice!, Please!/Papa Don't Preach!/I'm in trouble deep!/Don't you stop loving me!"
-Yet another one of Lady Madge's I'm-a-tortured-rebel-leave-me-alone!/A victim of a kind of rage songs.  Madonna hates authority, and she'll let the world know about it-This time, Madonna doesn't win and she cries in tears!

After Bastille-Thank you Madonna for being brave in the face of the terrible National Front!

Madonna Song of the Day-Over and Over from Like a Virgin
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"And I'll Shout It Again from the Highest Mountains/I Get Up Again/Over and Over!"-That you do, Lady Ciccone! May you always be a Ray of Light and a Masterpiece in this wicked world! Nothing Fails!

Madonna Song of the Day-Borderline from The First Album-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via first collaborator Reggie Lucas-"Something in the way you love me won't let me be!...You just keep on pushing my love over the Borderline!"-Yup, that about says it all doesn't it? Queen Maddy found her first theme/motif in Borderline-Unrequited love that never quite gets there.  Madonna is perplexed and frustrated at Sean and Guy! Borderline-the first Madonna tune/Kabbalah sermon to scream
"A Victim of a Kind of Rage!" Madonna's life is not the same.  Our lives are not the same.  Mission accomplished, Miss Ciccone!

Love you Madonna!

Madonna Song of the Day-Lucky Star from The Confessions Tour
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"You must be my Lucky Star!/Because you shine on me wherever you are!..."-First of Madonna's songs about her mother, Lucky Star shines brightly indeed, and with it comes a certain sadness of which Madonna excels at! Brilliant, Lady Ciccone!

Madonna Song of the Day-Like a Virgin/Hollywood medley from Remixed and Revisited-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via three younger musical proteges Missy Elliott, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears-"I made it through the wilderness/Somehow I made it through/Didn't know how lost I was/Until I found you/Like a Virgin/Touched for the very first time...Everybody comes to Hollywood/They wanna make it in the neighborhood/They like the smell of it in Hollywood/How could it hurt when it looks so good?"-Two of Madonna's most iconic songs about a favorite Ciccone motif subject-Fame and Fortune-and the lady enjoys all of it! What more can we all want? Absolutely! Your move, Madge!

Thursday, June 7, 2012

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

Thank You Megan, Danielle, Jackie, Brittany and Nicole for helping me today! Hop! Excellent American Rabbits All!

Madonna Song of the Day-American Life from record of same name-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"American Life/I Live the American Dream!/You Are the Best That I've Seen/You Are Not Just a Dream!"-Strange title piece from what is defiantly Madonna's most maligned and polarizing record.  American Life was a record that questioned the values, beliefs and mores that Madonna once held dear but now has seen through.  Just like Erotica and MDNA American Life is one of Madonna's Freakouts-An artist at war with herself.  The beginning of the end of Madonna as a chart fixture but she won't renounce all hope. For Madonna, life does go on.  Her Reign at the Top will Never be Over.  Never Count Madonna Out!

Madonna Song of the Day-What It Feels Like for a Girl from Music
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Charlotte Gainsbourg-"Do You Know/What It Feels Like for a Girl?/What It Feels Like in this world?"-Probing question for beautiful rebel daughter Lola, who is now so much like her mother Madge it's almost scary but both Lola and Madonna will get through it all! Inspired by French movie The Cement Garden.

Tonight this blog is dedicated to Mother Rabbit Andrea Rauh.  With Love, Rabbit Leopold-Hop!

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

Had a great Memorial Weekend, Hopping to Baltimore Harbor, watching a parade and honoring the troops-never forgetting the real meaning of Memorial.  I wear the cross with honor-Freedom ain't free: An American Rabbit Soldier-Bunny Leopold.  The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were
Somebody to Love by Queen and Hitch a Ride by Boston-both 1976, Against the Wind
by Bob Seger-1980 and Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen-1975.  Thanks always to Calvin, Rosie, Megan, both Rachels, Ashley, Allie, Lia and Faith.  Excellent Rabbits All!-Hop!

Madonna Song of the Day-Frozen from Ray of Light-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"You're Frozen When Your Heart's Not Open...If I Could Melt Your Heart..."-One of the lady's most poignant vocal turns, the ethereal Rock ballad Frozen is positively heartbreaking.  Co-written by Patrick Leonard and Billy Orbit, Madonna turned in a brilliant ballad performance.  Inspired by Michael Onaatje's romance novels that later became Oscar movies The Sheltering Sky and The English Patient, Madonna later refected and cried with sadness-"To be loved like that or to love someone that way!"-She'll never forget Sean Penn or Guy Ritchie anytime soon because both Sean and Guy changed her life and made her the woman she is today.  Frozen-Truly-and Daring-One of Madonna's best songs.

This blog tonight goes out to my friend, brother and theologian from Nashville-Bill Friskics-Warren.

Madonna Song of the Day-High Flying Adored from Evita-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Antonio Banderas, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice-"High Flying Adored/That's Good to Hear but Unimportant/My Story's Quite Usual/Local Girl Makes Good with Famous Men!/I Was Stuck at the Right Place at the Perfect Time!/I Was Young/I Was Lucky/But One Thing I'll Say for Me/No One Else Can Fill It Like I Can!"-And that, friends-sums up Madonna's message, viewpoint, philosophy and way of life.  She is a Material Girl and an aristocrat but she is also a Rocker, a Rebel and a Ray of Light in our world.  Madonna will never have it any other way! Madonna is the Queen of Reinvention and she takes that an gives it very seriously in her art, life and work.  Madonna truly is "the lady of them all!" After Evita and motherhood-Next Stops: Ray of Light to MDNA and the rest is the Rock History of Our Future and I'm so glad and happ to be a part of it and to be living in the Madonna Age.  Long May She Run!

Madonna Song of the Day-I'd Be Surprisingly Good for You from Evita-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice-"I'm Not Talking of a Hurried
Life (Night)/A Frantic Tumble and a Shy Goodbye/Creeping Home Before It Gets Too Light/That's Not the Reason That I Caught Your Eye!/Which Has to Imply/I'd Be Good for You/I'd Be Surprisingly
Good for You!"-One of Madonna's most tender and prettiest ballads, this tender and disarming Ciccone performance shows Maddy's beautiful Evita/W.E. voice at its most tender, fragile and vulnerable.  Madge is so happy that she cries! Come to think of it, I'd Be Surprisingly Good for Her Too!

Tonight this blog is in loving memory of Robert Moog-a man who did a lot for keyboards in rock.  May He Rock in Peace!

-That she is! Our Lady is All Still Wet! Wet with Tears and Sadness-This ballad-Love Tried to Welcome Me may be Madonna's most confessional song-Ciccone Heartbreak in a River of Tears.  Cry On Lady Ciccone!

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

-definitely one of my favorite Madonna album cuts! Madge is Hot!

Madonna Song of the Day-Into the Groove from The Immaculate Collection
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"And You Can Dance!/For Inspiration!/Come On!/I'm Waiting!/Get Into the Groove!/Boy you've got to prove your love to me, yeah!/Get up on your feet/Yeah step to the beat/Boy what will it be?/Music can be such a Revelation!...Only when I'm dancing can I feel this Free!...I Want to get to know you in a special way!/This doesn't happen to me every day!...Devour
(live out) your fantasy here with me/Just let Music set you Free/Touch my body!/Move in time/Now I know you're mine!/Get Into the Groove!..."-The quintessential Eighties Madonna Tune! Need I Say More?

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today criscrossed the Seventies and they were
Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp, I Need a Lover by John Mellencamp, Let It Be
by the Beatles and One of These Nights by the Eagles.  Had Fun at the Jazz Festival today and Great Rabbit Day with Rosie, Danielle, Brittany, Rachel Hip-Hopper and Jackie.  Great to see Brittany's Dog Jake! Woof! Bark!

Madonna Song of the Day-Hanky Panky from I'm Breathless (Dick Tracy)-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Come over here, yeah!/You can just Spank Me/Like
Hanky Panky/Nothing like a god spanky,,,My bottom hurts just thinking about it!/Give me
a spanky!/Hanky Panky!/Give it up honey because I want it, yeah!/Get the picture?"
-The backlash that was just about to hit Madonna just as she was about to be crowned Queen of Pop by the tabloids.  With the sexual and naughty Hanky Panky, Madonna was now a Sex Object.  The innocent ingenue that characterized Holiday, Material Girl, True Blue and Cherish was gone forever.  From
1990-1994, it seemed as if Madonna and I-from a fan's perspective-had come to a parting of the ways.  What was she to do now? For Madonna, rough times were ahead as she player her Body of Evidence that was a Dangerous Game of Truth or Dare.  Worst of all was the Sex Book...

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Back in Black by AC/DC, Love in an Elevator
by Aerosmith, Jumpin' Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones and She Talks to Angels by the Black Crowes.  Great Rabbit Day with Cindy, Rachel Hip-Hopper, Rosie and Jackie! Good Rabbits All!

Madonna Song of the Day-Promise to Try from Like a Prayer
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Little Girl/Don't You Forget Her Face/Laughing Away Your Tears/When She Was the One/Who Felt All the Pain...Will She See Me Cry When I Stumble and Fall/Does She Hear My Voice in the Night When I Call?/Wipe Away All Your Tears. It's Gonna Be Alright...Don't Let Memory Play Games with Your Mind/She's a Faded Smile/Frozen in Time/I'm Still Hanging On but I'm Doing It Wrong!/Can't Kiss Her Goodbye but I Promise to Try!"-A song for her beloved mother, Promise to Try might be the saddest song/ballad/performance Madonna Has Ever Recorded.  The most beautiful song in the history of the English language-Well done and good show
Madge Ciccone!

Madonna Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Mother by Pink Floyd, Finish What Ya Started by Van Halen, Movin' Out

-For many fans, the quintessential Madonna tune, that's Into the Groove.  Love, sex, Music and dance! What more can we all want?
Once Again, Madonna Delivers! Miss Ciccone's Happiest Song Ever!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Norwegian Wood (original demo version)
by the Beatles, Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just a Woman) by Led Zeppelin, Lonely Ol' Night
by John Mellencamp and Land of Confusion by Genesis.  To Megan, Cindy and Ashley, thanks for a great Rabbit Sunday.  Sincerely, Rabbit Leopold!-Hop!

Madonna Song of the Day-Can't Stop from Who's That Girl?-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Can't Stop!/Can't stop thinking about you babe/Can't Stop!/Can't stop screaming and shouting your name/Can't Stop!/Look out boy because I'm going to the top/Of your list/Can't Stop!...I can work a spell on your soul...Don't be afraid to try/Just let me love you for awhile...Can't Stop!"-Even when her writing is not at her best-this obscure album cut is a prime example-The Madonna tune that got away!-good ol' Madge still sings Can't Stop with absolute emotion and feeling.  Ever the hopeful romantic obsessive, this song is one of her more optimistic paeans about love.  Maybe That's Why Madonna Keeps Coming Back for More Adoration and Brilliance!

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

Happy Fifth of May-Heart of the Springtime! I enjoyed hanging out with the birds-Owl and Hawk-today.  To Jackie, Cindy, Ashley and Megan-Beautiful Lady Rabbits All!-Hop!

Madonna Song of the Day-Where's the Party?-from True Blue
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Working Monday through Friday/Takes up all of my time/If I can get to the weekend/Everything will work out just fine!...Where's the Party?/I Want to Free my Soul!/Where's the Party?/I Want to Lose Control!...I'm Ready Now!/Where's the Party?...We can make it alright/We can make you dance/We can make a party last all night!..."-Something tells me that Madonna is singing this album cut dance anthem out of desperation and sadness because that's what Where's the Party? sure sounds like! Lady Madonna just wants to have a good time but there are two things our Lady Evita/Material Mom just can't escape-the media breathing down her back and her mother's death.  All of which gives Where's the Party? much-needed gravitas and depth.  Madonna is definitely crying sad tears in this baila dance! Cry On, my Sweetheart Ciccone!

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

I had a a great day with Allie, Rachel Hip-Hopper, Ashley and Megan! Brilliant Rabbits All! Hop!

Madonna Song of the Day-Pretender from Like a Virgin-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"If it happens once, it happens twice!/I Know All about Your Kind!...He's a pretender!...Why did I fall in love?"-Yes, this is Madonna's first example of a subject she knows all too well!-The Cheating Song.  Having been scorned both by Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie hurts a lot! I guess Madonna is the Queen of the Broken Hearts After All!

Madonna Song of the Day-La Isla Bonita/Latte from Sticky and Sweet Tour
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Tropical the island breeze/All of Nature wild and free/This is where I long to be/La isla bonita...The madness of love/And what we'll do for it!...The madness of love/And where we'll go for it...I just had the strangest dream!/We won't get to do this twice!/It's a mad mad world!/I would never change this moment!"-The best highlight of Sticky and Sweet, I'd totally agree with her! Madonna still believes in Love!

Lady Madonna, I second that emotion!

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Michigan is a beautiful state.  It has many lakes, great and small. It's proud to be from the Midwest-Built Ford Tough-Mustangs Rule in Detroit.  And it has a proud Rock tradition.  One of them is its MDNA Decoder, its Evita and its Ray of Light.  Her Name is Madonna because Art and Reinvention are her middle names.  There'll Never Be Another Like Her! In the Evidence of Her Brilliance! Madonna Forever!

Madonna Song of the Day-La Isla Bonita from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Tropical the island breeze/All of Nature wild and free/This is where I long to be/La isla bonita!"
-Evita Prelude #1, La Isla Bonita sparkles and shines with a sweet ebullience and a melancholy, yet hopeful undertow.  Like all the best Madonna tunes, it has happiness and joy, longing and yearning
-and sadness and heartbreak-Madonna/Evita/Wallis does her tightrope happy/sad balancing act of tears and hope and flashes a smile to say "I love you!" to all of us who all care to listen.  My hat is off to her.
Te amo-Muchas gracias, Dona Ciccone/Peron/Simpson!

Thursday, April 26, 2012

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

To Rosie, Megan, Rachel Hip-Hopper, Jackie and Nicole-Rabbit Love and Hops to All!

Madonna Song of the Day-Erotica from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Erotic, erotic/Put your hands all over my body!"-In which sex is a work of art and a feeling of love! I am really quite touched by Madonna's musical hook.  And Inside, Madonna's All Still Wet!
-with Desire, Passion and Love! That's the Madonna I know and love! Your move, Lady Ciccone! Decoder=MDNA!

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

Rabbit Love and Hops to All!-L.R.

Madonna Song of the Day-Miles Away from Hard Candy-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"You always love me more/Miles Away/You always have the biggest heart/When we're 6000 miles apart/Miles Away...I'm alright/Don't be Sorry, but it's True/When I'm Gone/You'll Realize that I'm the best thing to happen to you/Miles Away/So Far Away!"-In hindsight, now that Guy Ritchie is out of Madonna's life-it was bound to happen.  How her Ray of Light turned into an Abyss of Despair! A Sad End!

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

Had another great springtime Rabbit day today with Ashley, Cindy and Megan-The Rain-apologies to Madonna
-finally came and showered the Earth-Happy Earth Day! The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today on 100.7 The Bay were Those Shoes by the Eagles, Take the Long Way Home by Supertramp, Suffergette City
by David Bowie and Rocket by Def Leppard.  A big tip of the hat to Mr. Dick Clark-the man responsible for bringing Madonna to an international audience.  He will be sorely missed and will never be forgotten! Here's to you, Mr. Clark!

Madonna Song of the Day-Music/Where's the Party? mashup from The Confessions Tour
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Hey Mister DJ!/Put my records on!/I Wanna Dance with my baby!...Music makes the people come together!/Where's the Party?/I want to free my soul!/Where's the Party?/I want to lose control!"-That they do.  Madonna, music and dance come together in a nonstop instant party confessional in which Her Detroit Ladyship dances her tears and heartbreak away with a beautiful Mustang Smile.  As she lassoes up her loud Ford 6-Speed Musclecar Horse, Madonna may be known the world over but in our hearts, she's still the Michigan Evita/Ray of Light Material Girl next door who brings smiles to the faces of rock critics who love, cherish and adore her music.  May it always be this way! Her Name lives forever more.  Contains interpolations of the following Ciccone concertos-"Everybody," "Borderline," "Dress You Up," "Vogue," "Justify My Love" and "Erotica."

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Had a great day today, marred somewhat by the sad death of the drummer of the Band-Levon Helm was his name-he was one of rock & roll's Good Guys-always there and ready to lend a helping hand to those in need or who were lost.  Along with Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd-extending all the way to such compadres and desperadoes as far-reaching as the Hooters, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco,
My Morning Jacket and the Drive-by Truckers, the Band pioneered a style of Rock known as Roots Rock
-known as Americana and Alt-Country in other parts depending on when and where you listened.  Regardless, it is good organic music for the heart and soul.  Mr. Helm will never be forgotten by me!
Rock in Peace, Levon! The most unique rock drummer ever! In honor of Mr. Helm, the Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Up on Cripple Creek by the Band, In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel,
Take It Easy by the Eagles and Hell's Bells by AC/DC.  Levon Helm, I Salute You!

Madonna Song of the Day-Hollywood from I'm Going to Tell You a Secret-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Everybody comes to Hollywood/They wanna make it in the neighborhood/They like the smell of it in Hollywood/How could it hurt you when it looks so good?"
-Yes, Madonna has mixed feelings about stardom, celebrity and fame but she wouldn't have it any other way because when it comes to functions and awards time, The Lady Handles Her Life with Dignity, Beauty and Grace.  To Madonna, Ooh La La You're My Superstar-I Love What You Are!

Madonna Tuesday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones, Hello/Goodbye
by the Beatles, Tube Snake Boogie by ZZ Top and Keep on Loving You by REO Speedwagon-all great classic rock songs! The Wizards played their best game last night in Chicago beating the Bulls 87-84.  Can't wait for Neil Young's new masterpiece Americana.

Madonna Song of the Day-How High?-from Confessions on a Dance Floor-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"How High are the stakes?/How much Fortune can you make?/Should I Carry On?/Will It Matter When I'm Gone?"-As a diehard Madonna fanatic, believe you me-it absolutely does matter because Madonna's Music and Art definitely matter because it's timeless and eternal! My answer to Madonna's questions-You betcha Madge!

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Small Town (acoustic version) by John Mellencamp, Rockin' Me by Steve Miller, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John and I Love Rock & Roll
by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.  Had lots of fun with Jason today!

Madonna Song of the Day-Nobody Knows Me from Remixed and Revisted
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"I've Had So Many Lives/Since I Was a Child!/And I Realize/How Many Times I've Died!/Nobody Knows Me!"-Definitely American Life's standout cut, this sad song reveals Madonna's insecurities one sad tear at a time.  That's why Nobody Knows Me is a good Madonna song.  The Lady is all too human!

Saturday, April 14, 2012

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today are songs that focus on the meaning of life-or sometimes
-the lack thereof-and they were I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2, Brain Damage/Eclipse
by Pink Floyd, Follow You Follow Me by Genesis and Won't Get Fooled Again by the Who.  I fed the birds today!-Lucky Me!

Madonna Song of the Day-Nothing Fails from American Life-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I've Climbed the Tree of Life-I'm No Longer Scared If I Fall!...Nothing Fails/No More Fears/Nothing Fails/You Washed Away My Tears!/I'm Not Religious but I Feel So Moved and I Feel Loved and It Makes Me Want to Pray/I Feel Loved/Nothing Fails!"-A Beautiful acoustic piece written for then-husband and forever soulmate Guy Ritchie-Here, Madonna Delivers a Performance that is still sad, moving and heartfelt given the fact their love had to end.  Even her guitar is in tears crying the Detroit Ciccone Blues.  The Marriage may not have survived but the music does.

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs That I Heard today were Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin,
Pride (In the Name of Love) by U2, I Thank You by ZZ Top and I Love Rock & Roll
by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts-all four great classic rockers!

Madonna Song of the Day-Bedtime Stories from Greatest Hits Volume 2-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Bjork-"Today is the Last Day I'll Use Words/They're Useless and do not stand for anything!/I'm Traveling into the arms of unconsciousness!/And Inside/We're All Still Wet!/Longing and Yearning/How Can I Explain How I Feel?/And All That You've Ever Learned/Try to Forget/Because I Will Never Explain Again!"-Bedtime Stories is one of Lady Madge's "A Victim of a Kind of Rage!" songs, that's for sure! She is complex yet misunderstood. Moreover, Madonna just might be "the most famous person alive"
-yet she is endearingly disarming and vulnerable to the nth degree.  In any case, the lady will never be forgotten!

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

The anti-Madonna bias that Rock Radio dishes out at her is quite simply vitriolic and disrespectful.  The attitude they have against her makes me not want to listen to those stations anymore! To even the non-fans, please show Madonna some love, respect and kindness!
She deserves acclaim not critique!

Madonna Song of the Day-Nobody's Perfect from Music-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"I feel so sad!/What I did wasn't right...I must say to you...I'm sorry!/Nobody's Perfect/I will do my best!...Yeah!-The truest and most honest song of Madonna's life!

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

Let's get to the point here! I've had enough of reality checks, euphemisms, rants and open letters.  They're no more than attitudinal threats! To society itself, please don't give me that attitude! Let's try and show a little emotion, respect and kindness to each other, alright please?

Madonna Song of the Day-Skin from Ray of Light-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Kiss me I'm dying!/Touch me I'm trying!/Put your hands on my skin!"-Madonna in this song just wants to be Loved-and that's all!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

Happy Easter! All Rabbits Rise Up! For Maman Lapine, Allie and Calvin.  The Four Classic Rock Songs That
I Heard today were Fame by David Bowie, Hollywood Nights by Bob Seger, Good Times Bad Times
by Led Zeppelin and I'll Wait by Van Halen.  As we reflect the suffering and torture Jesus went through in stylistic audacity that led to his tragic murder these many years ago-in the music and lyrics by Jon Anderson, Chris Squire and Trevor Rabin in one of the best songs ever by Yes-"Hold On to What Is Yours!"-The duty to do so is up to us.  Once again, Happy Easter to All Rabbits.  Hop!

Madonna Song of the Day-Goodnight and Thank You from Evita
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice
-"Oh but it's sad when a love affair dies!"-A Beautifully Sad Ciccone Lament about trying to make it on top.  See also Candy Perfume Girl, Skin, Beautiful Stranger, Hollywood, Nobody Knows Me, She's Not Me,
Girl Gone Wild, Some Girls, I Don't Give A, I'm a Sinner, Love Spent, Falling Free and I [Freaked] Up
for more information.  Madonna will thank you for that!

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were You May Be Right by Billy Joel, Heartache Tonight
by the Eagles, Bloody Well Right by Supertramp and TNT by AC/DC.  Classic Rock from all over the world

Madonna Friday-Rabbit Leopold

Happy Good Friday!-one of my favorite days of 12! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were
Can't You See? by the Marshall Tucker Band, Saturday Night Special by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rag Doll
by Aerosmith and Take It Easy by the Eagles.  Being good is the best thing in the world-To Allie, Angie, Lia, Calvin, both Rachels, Megan, Rosie, Cindy and Maman Lapine, I Love You All!

Madonna Song of the Day-Take a Bow from Bedtime Stories
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Take a Bow/The Night is Over...All the world is a stage/Everyone has their part/How was I to know which way my story would go?/And how was I to know you'd break my heart?/I've always been in love with you/I guess you've always known it's true/You took my love for granted/Why, oh why?/This show is over, say goodbye."-Funnily enough, this beautiful Ciccone heartbreaker/Evita prelude #4/#1 hit chart-topper is one of Madonna's best songs ever.  Madonna sing and cries Take a Bow with a beautiful sadness.  Contrary to what her lyrics described, the world will never say goodbye to Madonna.  She is Brilliant and Immortal!

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

Ah, the mid-Seventies! Was this really Classic Rock!? I Beg to Differ! An absolutely dreadful, boring and horrible time in rock & roll.  1973, 1974 and 1975.  Still there were some gems during this period among them.  The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Tush by ZZ Top, The Joker by Steve Miller,
Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Bitch Is Back by Elton John.  All pleasant enough
boogie rock but nothing too dangerous, memorable or exciting! No wonder punk rock had to happen.  It couldn't come soon or fast enough-To that period, I say good riddance!

Madonna Song of the Day-Secret Garden from Erotica-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"That's why I'm still looking/For a petal that isn't torn/A heart that will not harden/A place that I can be born/It's in my Secret Garden..."-Think of First Freakout/Erotica as Madonna's Through the Wilderness period where she was desperately searching for herself in the terrible scandal of the Sex book.  Desperately trying to be a mother with Lola, Rocco, David and Mercy-And Inside, All Still Wet with Sad Tears Streaming Down Her Face, Madonna Dared to Face Her Moment of Truth by Sheer Force of Will Determination and Grace Too.

Madonna Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were One of These Nights by the Eagles, Angie by the Rolling Stones, Old Man

Madonna Song of the Day-La Isla Bonita from The Immaculate Collection-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Tropical the island breeze/All of Nature wild and free/This is where I long to be/La isla bonita."-All at once, La Isla Bonita is her Spanish Lullaby and her Evit Prelude #1.  Result-Madonna's first chapter of The Reason for My Life.  Madonna=Brilliance!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today are by giants of Hard Rock
-they were Sister Christian (acoustic version) by Night Ranger, Hysteria by Def Leppard, Going to California
by Led Zeppelin and TNT by AC/DC.  I am still alive and grateful for it! This is something I will remember!

Madonna Song of the Day-Now I'm Following You (Parts 1 and 2)-from I'm Breathless (Dick Tracy)
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Stephen Sondheim and Warren Beatty
-"Romance is in the picture too/Now I'm Following You!"-One of Madonna's oddities and curios, this song is exactly why Madonna is special to all of us.  For all her sadness and heartbreak, Lady Madge is fun, outgoing and engaging.  That's one of her better qualities.

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were A Day in the Life by the Beatles, Closer to the Heart
by Rush, The Logical Song by Supertramp and Free Fallin' by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  The MDNA reviews keep coming in-Lucy O'Brien of Mojo and Simon Goddard of Q both say MDNA is Madonna's best record in years.  I heartily agree.  Way to go, Miss Ciccone!

Madonna Song of the Day-Like a Prayer from record of same name-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Life is a mystery/Everyone must stand alone/I hear you call my name/And it feels like home/Just like a prayer/Your voice can take me there/It's like a dream to me...Like a prayer/Take me there/Like a prayer!"-And so it is, Madonna's most beloved song-Like a Prayer!

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC,
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2, Free Will by Rush and Cheap Sunglasses by ZZ Top.  Yet another British Article with a vitriolic attack on Madonna! Give Me a Break! Just when the critics say she is over or passe, she comes storming, rocking and fighting back with Reinventions of Brilliance! MDNA does not disappoint-it actually has some mature good and brilliant songs on it! I just wish even some non-fans would give her a chance! Madonna is not going away! Not a chance!

Madonna Song of the Day-Over and Over from You Can Dance
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"It Doesn't Matter Who You Are/It's What You Do That Takes You Far!...I Get Up Again/Over and Over!..."-She always aces her tests and exams.  That is why Madonna is smart, bright and intelligent.  Her determination and drive-as well as her hitmaking ability will be forever unmatched.  Madonna is Love!-Love You Madge!

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Take the Long Way Home by Supertramp, Train Train
by Blackfoot, One of These Nights by the Eagles and Amie by Pure Prairie League.  In due time, MDNA will be a Masterpiece.  Right now, for Madonna-it already is! And that is something to be proud of.  To quote her friend Nicki Minaj, Madonna is still the queen!

Madonna Song of the Day-Who's That Girl?-from record/movie of same name-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?/When you see her...She's trouble!/Get closer to the fire...She's smiling!/An invitation to the Dance!/Light up my Life/So blind I can't see...Who's That Girl?/Run faster/Her laughter burns you up inside!/You're spinning round and round...Who's That Girl?/Light up my Life...What can help me now?/No one can help me now!/Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?"
-Sometimes Madonna doesn't even know who she-that girl-is-because of her mother's death.  Call this Eighties Ciccone classic an earlier version of Nobody Knows Me-The loss of her mother had a traumatic effect on the young Madge's psyche-Even some of the songs from new artwork MDNA-Girl Gone Wild,
I Don't Give A, I'm a Sinner, Masterpiece and Falling Free show that her scars will never quite heal.  However, that is why Madonna is here for comfort in hard times.

Madonna Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today are by an Eagle and three prog-rock bands-they were Life's Been Good by Joe Walsh,
Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp, Misunderstanding by Genesis and Hey You by Pink Floyd.  MDNA may not quite be Madonna's best album but it's damn close-it's about dancing her troubles away and trying to love again and to move on with her life.  That's what I call making amends in true Ciccone style!

Madonna Song of the Day-La Isla Bonita from True Blue-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Tropical the island breeze/All of Nature wild and free/This is where I long to be/La isla bonita!"-Evita Prelude #1, La Isla Bonita finds Dona Ciccone longing and yearning like she always does in a state of grace-Later becomes one of Lady Madge's most performed live numbers.  Muchas gracias, Dona Ciccone!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Rockin' in the Free World (acoustic version) by Neil Young, Brain Damage/Eclipse by Pink Floyd, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin and Raised on the Radio
by the Ravyns.  Gonna call Brother Calvin in Four Minutes.  Speaking of Madonna, I just got MDNA this morning but I'l play it once I Finish La Isla Bonita/Latte from the Final Rabbit Warner Masterpiece
Sticky and Sweet Tour!

Madonna Song of the Day-Love Don't Live Here Anymore from Like a Virgin-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Seventies soul band Rose Royce-"Through the windmills of my eyes/Everyone can see/The loneliness inside of me...You abandoned me/Love don't live here anymore/Just a vacancy/Love don't live here anymore!"-Clearly sad, tearful and crying out her Wet Ciccone Tears, Love Don't Live Here Anymore is the first Madonna Song to explore her mother's sad death.  In Tears, Madonna mops up the dance floor in sadness.  Unfortunately for Miss Ciccone, there is no closure, just the nagging feeling that won't quite go away of loss and sadness.  Fortunately for us-the lady's not the same.  We're not the same.  For in Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Madonna turns sadness into art.  For that we all can be grateful for Madonna's Presence and Fortinitude.

Wizards Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Highway to Hell by AC/DC, Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles, Running on Empty by Jackson Browne and Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp.  It is a Rainy Day,
Dream Away-what can I say?-Thanks Jimi Hendrix for inspiring me! You will never be forgotten!
-Rock in Peace!

Madonna Song of the Day-I Know It from The First Album-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I don't know why I thought you could make me happy!...You've grabbed your coat/You're out the door!/I know you don't care!...You're gonna turn around and say goodbye!...I Know It!...You've just proven me wrong!...Take your love and run from me!...I'm not gonna cry for you anymore!"-Who could have thought that even in the early Material Girl days that Madonna of all rockers would have a defiant, wild and mean streak? To paraphrase a lyric from fellow Midwest Hall of Famer John Mellencamp you better stand clear of Madge.  Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie clearly should have thought twice about Madonna's dangerous
femme fatale  Justify My Love personae.  About half the songs from new album Masterpiece MDNA have Madonna's "A victim of a kind of rage!" side.  Sometimes Madonna really is hurt and angry-a victim of mistrust and betrayal.  Don't dare try to cross her!

Manic Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Revolution by the Beatles, Once in a Lifetime
by Talking Heads, Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Desperado
by the Eagles.  Spring is here at last-Rabbits Forever!

Madonna Song of the Day-Live to Tell from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I have a tale to tell!/Sometimes it gets so hard to hide it well/I was not ready for the fall/Too blind to see the writing on the wall!...I know where beauty lives/I've seen it once/I know the warmth she gives/The light that you could never see/It shines inside/You can't take that from me!...If I ran away/I'd never have the strength to go very far/And how would they hear the beating of my heart?/Will it grow cold?/The secret that I hide?/Will I grow old?/How could they hear?/And how will they know?...A man can tell a thousand lies!/I've learned my lesson well!/Hope I live to tell/The secret I have learned/Till then, it will burn inside of me!/The truth is never far behind/You kept it hidden well!/If I live to tell/The secret I knew then/Will I ever have the chance again?"-Easily Madonna's best song ever, Live to Tell takes us on an emotional sonic trip of sadness and hope.  For once, the lady does not have all the answers.  This time, Madonna is seen as all-too-human.  Still,  Lady Madge gives encoragement and hope to to anyone who needs a helping hand in life.  In this way, Rebel Ciccone is the Mother Teresa of Rock, Shining a Ray of Light in this dark and hopeless world we live in
-she is a voice for those Voices who don't have one, sending beautiful Rain for those who will
Take a Bow.  In that respect, Lady Madonna is a Superstar who'll always be a Best Friend to many.

Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Other cities always made me mad/Other places always made me sad/No other city ever made me glad/Except New York!/I love New York!/If you can't stand the heat/Then get off of my street!"-Hearking back to her days of Danceteria and CBGB's (gone but not forgotten), good ol' Madge flashes her guitar and turns it up to eleven! Rock It Madonna!

Caught in the Middle-Rabbit Leopold

It is a beautiful night outside of Baltimore-I like Westminster but somehow I'm not feeling the love-Apologies to my Duke Friend Steve Earle-Someday I'm finally gonna let go/Because I know there's a better way/I wonder what's over that rainbow/I'm gonna get out of here someday! Wizards Monday-Rabbit Leopold

Drive-In Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

There you have it.  Had Lunch at Arundel Mills, near Glen Burnie-I loved it.  Cindy, Megan and Ashley were there! Was at the arcade, had fun.  Nicole Sent me Madonna's 2012 calendar-Thanks Nic!-Beautiful Sister! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Let It Be by the Beatles, We've Got Tonight by Bob Seger, Have a Drink on Me by AC/DC and Bloody Well Right by Supertramp

Madonna Song of the Day-Mother and Father from American Life
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"There was a time that I was happy In My Life/There was a time I thought I believed I'd Live Forever!...There was a time that I had a mother and it was nice!...I didn't understand, I was just a kid!...My mother died when I was five/And all I did was sit and cry!/My father had to go to work/I used to think he was a jerk!...Not another word was spoken!...A victim of a kind of rage!"
-That's right, Madonna at her most enraged up to this point.  Of course, new record MDNA has irrevocably changed all that but Madonna will forever be heartbroken and distraught over her mother's death! That's a Fact! Channeling her inner Sophie Tucker, Bessie Smith and Nina Simone, Madonna seethes, burns and rages in this sad ballad and proves beyond a doubt that Miss Ciccone can do sad like no one else in recorded music today.  Your move, Madge!
