Madonna Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were A Day in the Life by the Beatles, Closer to the Heart
by Rush, The Logical Song by Supertramp and Free Fallin' by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  The MDNA reviews keep coming in-Lucy O'Brien of Mojo and Simon Goddard of Q both say MDNA is Madonna's best record in years.  I heartily agree.  Way to go, Miss Ciccone!

Madonna Song of the Day-Like a Prayer from record of same name-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Life is a mystery/Everyone must stand alone/I hear you call my name/And it feels like home/Just like a prayer/Your voice can take me there/It's like a dream to me...Like a prayer/Take me there/Like a prayer!"-And so it is, Madonna's most beloved song-Like a Prayer!

Madonna Thursday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC,
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2, Free Will by Rush and Cheap Sunglasses by ZZ Top.  Yet another British Article with a vitriolic attack on Madonna! Give Me a Break! Just when the critics say she is over or passe, she comes storming, rocking and fighting back with Reinventions of Brilliance! MDNA does not disappoint-it actually has some mature good and brilliant songs on it! I just wish even some non-fans would give her a chance! Madonna is not going away! Not a chance!

Madonna Song of the Day-Over and Over from You Can Dance
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"It Doesn't Matter Who You Are/It's What You Do That Takes You Far!...I Get Up Again/Over and Over!..."-She always aces her tests and exams.  That is why Madonna is smart, bright and intelligent.  Her determination and drive-as well as her hitmaking ability will be forever unmatched.  Madonna is Love!-Love You Madge!

Madonna Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Take the Long Way Home by Supertramp, Train Train
by Blackfoot, One of These Nights by the Eagles and Amie by Pure Prairie League.  In due time, MDNA will be a Masterpiece.  Right now, for Madonna-it already is! And that is something to be proud of.  To quote her friend Nicki Minaj, Madonna is still the queen!

Madonna Song of the Day-Who's That Girl?-from record/movie of same name-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?/When you see her...She's trouble!/Get closer to the fire...She's smiling!/An invitation to the Dance!/Light up my Life/So blind I can't see...Who's That Girl?/Run faster/Her laughter burns you up inside!/You're spinning round and round...Who's That Girl?/Light up my Life...What can help me now?/No one can help me now!/Who's That Girl?/Who's That Girl?"
-Sometimes Madonna doesn't even know who she-that girl-is-because of her mother's death.  Call this Eighties Ciccone classic an earlier version of Nobody Knows Me-The loss of her mother had a traumatic effect on the young Madge's psyche-Even some of the songs from new artwork MDNA-Girl Gone Wild,
I Don't Give A, I'm a Sinner, Masterpiece and Falling Free show that her scars will never quite heal.  However, that is why Madonna is here for comfort in hard times.

Madonna Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today are by an Eagle and three prog-rock bands-they were Life's Been Good by Joe Walsh,
Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp, Misunderstanding by Genesis and Hey You by Pink Floyd.  MDNA may not quite be Madonna's best album but it's damn close-it's about dancing her troubles away and trying to love again and to move on with her life.  That's what I call making amends in true Ciccone style!

Madonna Song of the Day-La Isla Bonita from True Blue-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Tropical the island breeze/All of Nature wild and free/This is where I long to be/La isla bonita!"-Evita Prelude #1, La Isla Bonita finds Dona Ciccone longing and yearning like she always does in a state of grace-Later becomes one of Lady Madge's most performed live numbers.  Muchas gracias, Dona Ciccone!

Madonna Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Rockin' in the Free World (acoustic version) by Neil Young, Brain Damage/Eclipse by Pink Floyd, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin and Raised on the Radio
by the Ravyns.  Gonna call Brother Calvin in Four Minutes.  Speaking of Madonna, I just got MDNA this morning but I'l play it once I Finish La Isla Bonita/Latte from the Final Rabbit Warner Masterpiece
Sticky and Sweet Tour!

Madonna Song of the Day-Love Don't Live Here Anymore from Like a Virgin-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson via Seventies soul band Rose Royce-"Through the windmills of my eyes/Everyone can see/The loneliness inside of me...You abandoned me/Love don't live here anymore/Just a vacancy/Love don't live here anymore!"-Clearly sad, tearful and crying out her Wet Ciccone Tears, Love Don't Live Here Anymore is the first Madonna Song to explore her mother's sad death.  In Tears, Madonna mops up the dance floor in sadness.  Unfortunately for Miss Ciccone, there is no closure, just the nagging feeling that won't quite go away of loss and sadness.  Fortunately for us-the lady's not the same.  We're not the same.  For in Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Madonna turns sadness into art.  For that we all can be grateful for Madonna's Presence and Fortinitude.

Wizards Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Highway to Hell by AC/DC, Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles, Running on Empty by Jackson Browne and Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp.  It is a Rainy Day,
Dream Away-what can I say?-Thanks Jimi Hendrix for inspiring me! You will never be forgotten!
-Rock in Peace!

Madonna Song of the Day-I Know It from The First Album-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I don't know why I thought you could make me happy!...You've grabbed your coat/You're out the door!/I know you don't care!...You're gonna turn around and say goodbye!...I Know It!...You've just proven me wrong!...Take your love and run from me!...I'm not gonna cry for you anymore!"-Who could have thought that even in the early Material Girl days that Madonna of all rockers would have a defiant, wild and mean streak? To paraphrase a lyric from fellow Midwest Hall of Famer John Mellencamp you better stand clear of Madge.  Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie clearly should have thought twice about Madonna's dangerous
femme fatale  Justify My Love personae.  About half the songs from new album Masterpiece MDNA have Madonna's "A victim of a kind of rage!" side.  Sometimes Madonna really is hurt and angry-a victim of mistrust and betrayal.  Don't dare try to cross her!

Wizards Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young, Pink Cadillac
by Bruce Springsteen, Candle in the Wind by Elton John and You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC.
Mr. President, bring the troops home now! Your Presidency is on the line!

Madonna Song of the Day-Spanish Lesson from Sticky and Sweet Tour-Lyric quote from

Manic Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Revolution by the Beatles, Once in a Lifetime
by Talking Heads, Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Desperado
by the Eagles.  Spring is here at last-Rabbits Forever!

Madonna Song of the Day-Live to Tell from Celebration-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"I have a tale to tell!/Sometimes it gets so hard to hide it well/I was not ready for the fall/Too blind to see the writing on the wall!...I know where beauty lives/I've seen it once/I know the warmth she gives/The light that you could never see/It shines inside/You can't take that from me!...If I ran away/I'd never have the strength to go very far/And how would they hear the beating of my heart?/Will it grow cold?/The secret that I hide?/Will I grow old?/How could they hear?/And how will they know?...A man can tell a thousand lies!/I've learned my lesson well!/Hope I live to tell/The secret I have learned/Till then, it will burn inside of me!/The truth is never far behind/You kept it hidden well!/If I live to tell/The secret I knew then/Will I ever have the chance again?"-Easily Madonna's best song ever, Live to Tell takes us on an emotional sonic trip of sadness and hope.  For once, the lady does not have all the answers.  This time, Madonna is seen as all-too-human.  Still,  Lady Madge gives encoragement and hope to to anyone who needs a helping hand in life.  In this way, Rebel Ciccone is the Mother Teresa of Rock, Shining a Ray of Light in this dark and hopeless world we live in
-she is a voice for those Voices who don't have one, sending beautiful Rain for those who will
Take a Bow.  In that respect, Lady Madonna is a Superstar who'll always be a Best Friend to many.

Temple Bar Sunday-Rabbit Leopold

MDNA is Madonna's apotheosis!-The more it hear it it, the more it gets better.  Sometimes letting the Michigan Cry out is therapy for Madonna.  The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were
Born in the USA (acoustic version), I Thank You by ZZ Top, Hell's Bells by AC/DC and Who Are You?
by the Who.  Rachels Holl and Huntermark, you both rock my Maryland Rock Queens!

Peg by Steely Dan, Fame by David Bowie and Panama by Van Halen.  MDNA is brilliant!-Madonna has finally made the record everyone knew she was capable of-and this time, Our Lady is crying with sadness and tears

Madonna Song of the Day-Heartbeat from Hard Candy-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"You know I feel it in my heartbeat/When I dance I feel free!"-Truer words have never been sung! Madonna, you're brilliant!

Warmer Days-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were La Grange by ZZ Top, Highway to Hell by AC/DC, Desire
by U2 and Last Child by Aerosmith.  Welcome Springtime.  Blues Traveler is an overlooked rock band and Warmer Days is my favorite song from their debut album-John Popper is a demon on the harp!

Madonna Song of the Day-I Love New York from The Confessions Tour-Lyric quote from
Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Other cities always made me mad/Other places always made me sad/No other city ever made me glad/Except New York!/I love New York!/If you can't stand the heat/Then get off of my street!"-Hearking back to her days of Danceteria and CBGB's (gone but not forgotten), good ol' Madge flashes her guitar and turns it up to eleven! Rock It Madonna!

Thursday's Child-Rabbit Leopold

Yes, Thursday's Child is one of David Bowie's best later-day songs! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Back in the Saddle by Aerosmith, Who's Crying Now? by Journey, All Down the Line

Madonna Song of the Day-Mother and Father/Intervention from I'm Going to Tell You a Secret
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"There was a time that I was happy in my life!...A victim of
a kind of rage!...I've got to save my baby (Rocco)!/Because he makes me cry!-Madonna at her most tender and vulnerable.

Caught in the Middle-Rabbit Leopold

It is a beautiful night outside of Baltimore-I like Westminster but somehow I'm not feeling the love-Apologies to my Duke Friend Steve Earle-Someday I'm finally gonna let go/Because I know there's a better way/I wonder what's over that rainbow/I'm gonna get out of here someday! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were After Midnight (original version) by Eric Clapton, Who Are You? by the Who, Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd
and Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin-all British!

Madonna Song of the Day-Hung Up from Confessions on a Dance Floor
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"Time goes by so slowly...I'm Hung Up on you!"
-A Madonna song about time travel, Hung Up is her biggest #1 hit worldwide ever and a tearful dance
on her mother's grave-Brilliant, Madonna!

Wizards Monday-Rabbit Leopold

The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Us and Them by Pink Floyd, Heartache Tonight
by the Eagles, Walk This Way by Aerosmith and Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp.  MDNA is coming because Lady Madonna is going to cry on this Masterpiece! Spring is in the air-let's go fly a kite.  Fenders and Gibsons rule-all guitars blazing!

Madonna Song of the Day-Love Profusion from Remixed and Revisted
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"And I know I can feel bad/When I get in a bad mood/And the world can look so sad/Only you make me feel good!"-Sentiment of brilliance + Artist and audience=Madonna!

Drive-In Saturday-Rabbit Leopold

There you have it.  Had Lunch at Arundel Mills, near Glen Burnie-I loved it.  Cindy, Megan and Ashley were there! Was at the arcade, had fun.  Nicole Sent me Madonna's 2012 calendar-Thanks Nic!-Beautiful Sister! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Let It Be by the Beatles, We've Got Tonight by Bob Seger, Have a Drink on Me by AC/DC and Bloody Well Right by Supertramp

Madonna Song of the Day-Mother and Father from American Life
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"There was a time that I was happy In My Life/There was a time I thought I believed I'd Live Forever!...There was a time that I had a mother and it was nice!...I didn't understand, I was just a kid!...My mother died when I was five/And all I did was sit and cry!/My father had to go to work/I used to think he was a jerk!...Not another word was spoken!...A victim of a kind of rage!"
-That's right, Madonna at her most enraged up to this point.  Of course, new record MDNA has irrevocably changed all that but Madonna will forever be heartbroken and distraught over her mother's death! That's a Fact! Channeling her inner Sophie Tucker, Bessie Smith and Nina Simone, Madonna seethes, burns and rages in this sad ballad and proves beyond a doubt that Miss Ciccone can do sad like no one else in recorded music today.  Your move, Madge!

Life's been good to me!-I can't complain! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Give a Little Bit

Target Wednesday-Rabbit Leopold

Welcome to the Working Week-as a Brit named Elvis once wrot way back in 77! Funny How Time Flies! The Four Classic Rock Songs I Heard today were Fool in the Rain by Led Zeppelin,
Those Shoes by the Eagles, Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Centerfield by John Fogerty.  For the Orioles, it's time to win at Camden Yards and end the losing.  From baseball, we turn to Hockey where the Caps lost again at home last night.  If things don't improve, the Caps are not gonna make the playoffs! As the late great NBC Peacock sportscaster said on Channel 4-"This is not Caps Hockey!"
-Boy do I remember that!

Madonna Song of the Day-Gone from Music-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson
-"Selling ou is not my thing!...Turn to stone/Lose my faith/I'll be gone/Before it happens! Yes! Gone is one of the saddest ballads Madonna has ever recorded.  The woman is gloriously and defiantly unrepentant-think of the new record MDNA that way! Lady Madonna is Sad and Fierce!

Madonna Song of the Day-Live to Tell from Something to Remember
-Lyric quote from Lady Ciccone/Peron/Simpson-"I have a tale to tell!/Sometimes it gets so hard to hide it well!/I was not ready for the fall!/Too blind to see the writing on the wall!...I know where beauty lives/I've seen it once!/I know the warmth she gives!/The light that you could never see!/It shines inside!/You can't take that from me!...If I ran away/I'd never have the strength to go very far/And how would they hear the beating of my heart?/Will it grow cold?/The secret that I hide?/How will they hear?/When will they learn/And how will they know?/A man can tell a thousand lies!/I've learned my lesson well!/Hope I live to tell/The secret I have learned/Till then, it will burn inside of me!/The truth is never far behind!/You kept it hidden well!/If I live to tell/The secret I knew then/Will I ever have the chance again?"-Don't be afraid Madonna!
